Drake x Nicki Minaj, “Make Me Proud”, the second single off of Drake’s upcoming record, Take Care. This track will be BIG!!!

About this time last year, I witnessed one of the greatest moments of my life. Rookie of the year and Toronto-native Drake threw his first OVO Festival, taking place on the last day of Caribana weekend. One of the biggest and greatest moments that the city has ever seen took place that night, when Drake brought out Eminem followed shortly by Jay-Z. That reality still shocks me, but as you can see, I captured the moment.
A year later, the second annual OVO Festival is in full effect. The show is completely sold out and people are buzzing about who will appear tonight. My guesses? Lil’ Wayne, Nas, J.Cole, Rihanna, Kanye West, Eminem, and/or Jay-Z. With a few Canadians mixed in there.
To celebrate today, Drake has released his first single from his upcoming album Take Care entitled “Headlines”. I am not sure how the masses will receive this track, but based on the other material we’ve heard from the album, I am sure it’ll be incredible. I wasn’t a huge fan of “Over” when I first heard it, so I’m going to give this track a chance. Click the photo for a free download (and cop it while you can, because in a week’s time it’ll probably be taken down).
Take Care, indeed.

we threw a party, yeah we threw a party.

Drizzy Drake took to his blog today to deliver yet another piece of his sophomore album, Take Care. It comes in the form of an MP3 called “Marvin’s Room”. I’ve always felt like Drake is in his prime when he’s doing R&B music, and this is yet another example as to how he reigns in that genre. Click the photo for a download link.
It feels like Christmas because our Toronto-born rapper also delivered two other pieces of news. The first: an official single is dropping in July (perhaps in time for a certain tumblr user’s birthday?!) AND the album is scheduled to be released on October 24th.
Looks like Drake will have plenty of new material to perform at this year’s OVO Fest, taking place on July 31st. I can guarantee you that it will not be the same show as last year - it will be better.

It’s been a minute though.

Drizzy Drake killed his hosting duties this past Sunday at the 40th Junos which took place in Toronto. Many of us fans and viewers were angry that he was again snubbed by an award show, especially one he was hosting in his home country. However, we’re all aware that the Junos brought Drake on as a host for ratings, and they achieved their objective. I have faith in his new record, Take Care which is due out later this year — Drizz will get the recognition he deserves.

This is one of the best skits he did during the award ceremony. It’s absolutely hilarious. “Canary Yellow…WITH THE LOAFERS ON!”

Yeah, I’ll be quoting that for a while.

PS Mark your calendars - the 2011 OVO Festival will be taking place on July 31st. See you there.
