About this time last year, I witnessed one of the greatest moments of my life. Rookie of the year and Toronto-native Drake threw his first OVO Festival, taking place on the last day of Caribana weekend. One of the biggest and greatest moments that the city has ever seen took place that night, when Drake brought out Eminem followed shortly by Jay-Z. That reality still shocks me, but as you can see, I captured the moment.
A year later, the second annual OVO Festival is in full effect. The show is completely sold out and people are buzzing about who will appear tonight. My guesses? Lil’ Wayne, Nas, J.Cole, Rihanna, Kanye West, Eminem, and/or Jay-Z. With a few Canadians mixed in there.
To celebrate today, Drake has released his first single from his upcoming album Take Care entitled “Headlines”. I am not sure how the masses will receive this track, but based on the other material we’ve heard from the album, I am sure it’ll be incredible. I wasn’t a huge fan of “Over” when I first heard it, so I’m going to give this track a chance. Take Care, indeed.
